Yesterday evening, exactly two weeks after nearly 500 pupils performed at our 400th Anniversary Event at the Royal Festival Hall, we held the Open Finals of our Instrumental and Vocal Performance Competition in the Great Hall. 

Last week 118 Grade 7+ musicians played in the first round, while the Finals saw 18 performances across the five sections. Peter Hewitt, our visiting adjudicator, was very impressed by the extremely high standard of music-making.

Well done to all pupils who took part, the finalists and the winners of the five sections: Erika (woodwind), Dominic (brass and percussion), Anya (piano), Kiara (voice) and Harris (strings). Erika, on flute, also won the Outstanding Performance award.
