About Us
With a history dating back four centuries, the Latymer School is one of London’s most historic and successful grammar schools.
A state-funded selective grammar school for boys and girls, it is located at the heart of the diverse and bustling Borough of Enfield, close to Edmonton Green overground station. After moving from Church Street in 1901, the school found its current home on Haselbury Road. From this site, we are proud to serve the young people of Edmonton and the surrounding areas.
Our school’s sizeable community of over 1,350 students embodies a wide variety of cultures, religions and beliefs. Our passionate and highly-qualified staff, hailing from countries across the world, also play a key role in school life. We work together to welcome young people of all backgrounds and promote a liberal ethos of respect and tolerance.
Academically, Latymerians excel. Together with the support of parents/carers, our staff help students to achieve outstanding examination results at GCSE and A Level year-on-year. Our results place us in the top 10% of co-educational schools nationally. But we do not solely value knowledge, we also place a high importance on social and emotional enrichment through extracurricular activities and events.
Ultimately, we aim to send all Latymerians into the world as balanced, conscientious and well-informed individuals.
