Young alumn coming back to help English Literature students.

On Monday 6th October, Freddy Conway-Shaw (Class of 2021, Oxford graduate and current PhD student at King's College London), came to speak to Latymer's Oxbridge candidates for English Literature. Freddy talked about the experience of doing an Oxford degree in English, answered questions on interviews, and conducted some mock interview practice with the students. The students found the process both valuable and reassuring.

As Clara, Year 13 student, commented "Today's interview experience with an alumnus was incredibly helpful with Oxbridge prep. I felt as though practising with someone who we didn't feel as comfortable with as our teachers was important, as was talking to someone who had both gone through the interview process and student life at Oxford recently. I feel a lot more confident now."

Freddy also added "I wanted to help out with applications because I remembered what amazing help I got from my teachers at Latymer, and from an ex-student who they brought in for mock interviews. It was a brilliant experience to speak to such intelligent and thoughtful current Year 13s, and lovely to see such passion for English. Definitely something I would do again!"

A huge thank you to Freddy for his wonderful help and input!
