Wonderful event for Year 7 students

Enormous thanks to our wonderful Year 7s, who were an engaged and attentive audience last week when Latymer was visited by the brilliant Globe Players who performed ‘What You Will’ – a medley of scenes from Shakespeare’s plays. Also, a huge thanks to parents/carers for your contributions towards this fantastic enrichment opportunity (it is still possible to contribute via parent pay, if you have not already done so).

Please see below for some glowing Year 7 student reviews of the Globe Players performance:

The Globe Players performance was a humorous, immersive experience that was worth watching. It had a mix of different Shakespeare plays, including Hamlet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo and Juliet, The Tempest and Macbeth. They incorporated these scenes creatively, which made the whole audience laugh. Overall, the Globe Players was one of the highest quality plays I’ve seen!” Amelia

I really enjoyed the Globe Players performance as it was really funny, and it taught me a lot about Shakespeare’s plays. I was never a fan of Shakespeare before, but the performance portrayed his works in a really fun way.” Eloise

I believe the Globe Players production was very enjoyable and I liked the use of special effects, and they used the stage very well. It let me use my imagination and picture the scenery well. It was unlike most plays and gave Shakespearean atmosphere around the hall.” Enes

I really enjoyed this play; it was very fun to watch, and they really engaged the audience well. They made us at ease, and we could understand what was going on even if we didn’t know the plays.” Maksim

The Globe Players production was really fun to watch. It was a funny, interactive experience. The actors incorporated facts about Shakespeare and many of his plays, like The Tempest, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Twelfth Night and Macbeth.” Amanah
