Transportation survey

The student-led Eco Committee carried out a survey on most students in Years 7-11, throughout March and February. They gave an assembly on Tuesday this week and are finally publishing the results! Here is a summary provided by the students:

In the assembly, we talked about the importance of looking after the environment and climate change, and as part of this, we shared the results of a survey that we have been working on this year. The survey is about air quality and transport to school.

68% of all students in Year 7 to 11 were polled. The majority of the school takes the bus to school (62%), and a further 14% take the train. A sixth of students are driven to school - this is average for a London school.

We gave each year group an "eco-score", factoring all data from the survey, to compare them: Year 7 were lowest with 51/100 and Year 8 highest with 81/100. Year 9 had 80/100, Year 10 at 70/100 and Year 11 at 74/100.

The Eco Committee is looking to work with the school to foster more active transport, which helps the local environment and the air quality around Latymer. A staff survey is currently underway, and the full report on the student survey can be requested from Mr Jaehne, who oversees this committee, via office@latymer.co.uk.
