A Year 13 Sextet (clarinet, two violins, viola, cello and piano), coached by Head of Strings Ms Drury, entered the U19 category of this year's national competition.  The preliminary round and semi-finals were held at QE Boys' School.  Congratulations to the ensemble on making it all the way to the Final, held at Woldingham School in Surrey.  Latymer was one of just three state schools to reach the Finals and the players were a real credit to the school.  Many thanks to Ms Drury for her excellent work with the students.

Over the last few months, the six of us have been learning and crafting our performance of Prokofiev’s ‘Overture on Jewish Themes’. The competition was very rewarding, but the highlight for all of us was the process of learning to work together as an ensemble and developing our understanding of the music as a whole. It was an unforgettable experience, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it.  (Molly)
