ESAA Cross Country Cup

Great results in the English Schools’ Athletics Association Cross Country Cup.
The Latymer cross country teams embarked on another adventure last week, making their way to Dame Alice Owen’s School (DAOS) in Hertfordshire, to compete in the 1st round of the English Schools’ Athletics Association Cross Country Cup.
We were excited to be able to take six teams this year including for the first time, a senior girls’ team. Having previously seen teams reach the regional round for the south east, we went into the event hopeful that with one or two outstanding athletes in our squads combined with a lot of runners with determination and resilience, we stood a good chance of qualifying in the top two across most age groups.
We were delighted to have come away from the event with four of our six teams having qualified for the regional round, which is due to take place on 7th November in Hackney. So, the inter boys and girls and the senior boys and girls all qualified and will see us take on the best of the south east of England for the right to be in the National Finals in Leeds, later in the year.
A real confidence boost ahead of the Enfield Borough Championships which will take place on Friday 15th November in Trent Park.
A big thank you to Mrs March and Mr Fudge who accompanied the teams over to DAOS.
