Trip to King's Cross

On Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd October, the Year 11 Geography GCSE students travelled to King’s Cross to collect data, across the 67-acre site, on the redevelopment that has changed the area over the last few years.
We began the day by looking at the 6 different sites, from Battle Bridge Place to Granary Square. We spent time surveying members of the public and asking about their thoughts on the redevelopment in the area, conducting Environmental Quality Surveys, and footfall counts. We listened to a talk from the King’s Cross visitors centre and got to see the detailed 3D model of the area.

As Joe and Delilah, Year 11 students, commented "It was interesting to learn about how significantly the area has changed, whilst also holding some of its historical past through its buildings. During the day, one of the groups even ran into the famous British Masterchef food critic, Jay Rayner! He was delighted to be involved in our surveys and told us about his thoughts of King’s Cross pre and post the redevelopment!"
