Foyle Young Poets of the Year 2024
10/10/2024

Latymer student amongst the commended poets.
The Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award is one of the biggest and most prestigious poetry competitions for young people. Every year judges choose 15 top winners and 85 commended poets who together represent some of the most exciting new voices in writing today. Former winners include Jay Bernard, Sarah Howe, Helen Mort, Phoebe Power, Caroline Bird, Mukahang Limbu and Richard O’Brien.
This year there were over 17,000 submissions from young people across 113 countries and we are delighted to congratulate Latymer’s own Jasper, Year 13, on being one of the commended poets as judged by Vanessa Kisuule and Jack Underwood. Jasper attended the ceremony at the British Library and enjoyed meeting other winners and participating in the poetry reading and Q&A.
Well done Jasper!
