A special tournament
On the 27th April, an inter-house chess tournament was held in the Great Hall. It was organised by Mr Ogidi, who very kindly runs the very popular chess club.
Four students from each house played three rounds of chess to earn points for their house.
After three rounds of competitive chess, the Latymer House came first with Dolbe as a close second. Latymer had edged the leaderboard after the first round and held on to win the contest in the end. Students thoroughly enjoyed the event and feedback was positive.

'I'm really glad to have taken part, there was a friendly yet competitive atmosphere!' - Luca, Ashworth.
The competition was split into two boards and included many members of the chess team. A random draw had automated the matchups meaning that no round was the same. Highlights include a thrilling match with Ashworth's Luca winning against Wyatt's Rishi which lasted over 25 minutes!
Congratulations to the Latymer House and their standout performer, Beni, who won all three of his games!
