Celebrating Languages

01/10/2026

On Monday 28 September, Latymer celebrated the European Day of Languages, recognising the richness of different languages and cultures within our school community and beyond.

Tutor time provided an opportunity for pupils to explore languages together through an activity and quiz. Staff were also encouraged to take the register in another language, bringing a multilingual flavour to the start of the day!

In French lessons, pupils explored the importance of language learning and the connections it helps us build with other people and cultures. The celebrations encouraged curiosity and reminded pupils that learning a language opens doors to new experiences, friendships and ways of seeing the world.

Thank you to the staff and pupils who helped bring this celebration to life. We hope it inspired everyone to try a few new words and take pride in the languages they already speak.
