The Year 7 Book Club recently read October, October by Katya Balen. Part of the story sees October and her friend Yusuf discover the joy of mudlarking on the River Thames. As a consequence the Year 7 Book Club had a visit to the Museum of London Docklands to the Secrets of the Thames Exhibition.

This exhibition was the first in the UK dedicated to the history and current day activity of mudlarking.
