Art trip

23/06/2026

Tate Britain

On Monday 22nd June, the Year 12 Art Class took a trip to Tate Britain. We explored the rich history of British art as well as visiting two fantastic exhibitions of the work of James McNeill Whistler, who explores the landscapes and people in 19th century America and Europe disrupting the conventions of Victorian society and Hurvin Anderson, whose work explores the idea of belonging and diaspora, reflecting his experience as his family moved from Jamaica to Birmingham just before his birth.

Our time was spent drawing and interacting with the art work to help generate ideas for the Personal Investigation project. Everybody found something of inspiration and it was real pleasure to be able to spend time with the artwork, we had a great day!
