Cwm trip

20/05/2026

Dolbe

Last week, Year 7 Dolbé were the first form to go to the yearly trip to Cwm Penmachno. As Ms Robson commented “We had an amazing time, with mixed weather for the activities, but the students did brilliantly! It was fantastic to see them having such a wonderful time in different surroundings to school. As well as being a terrific enrichment opportunity, the trip links to the Geography topic Glorious Glaciation, where we could see real examples of landforms we learn about in class.”

Here is what Jayden, Fran, Dexton, Asmin, Seiji and Henry had to say:

“I really enjoyed going to Zipworld on our last day and especially doing the Forest Coaster at full throttle.”

“I loved being able to be with my friends all the time and it was a really great experience to learn more about others and make new, great friends.”

“I’ve enjoyed abseiling in Go Below, and going to Zipworld was also fun, including the Skyride. Going to the town (Betws-y-Coed) was really nice.”

“I really enjoyed spending time with my friends and I felt like every activity forced me to be brave and try something new.”

“What was nice was being able to look around me and not being surrounded by technology and the things you see in London, but a beautiful landscape stretching for miles. I felt like a different me throughout the whole trip, and I’m about to come out as a different me as well.”

“It was very interesting and different to London in many ways, like picturesque landscapes instead of tall skyscrapers, so I think that I enjoyed the unique environment. My favourite activity probably had to be the hike to the summit of the mountain (Manod Mawr), which was 670m above sea level and although the weather was bad, the views at the top of the mountain made up for it.”

We’d like to thank the staff members who accompanied the group – without you, those trips wouldn’t be possible!
