The French exchange with Year 10 students in Tours
On Tuesday 12th May, 34 Year 10 students returned from a wonderful week spent in France, where they stayed with their French exchange partners. We discovered the Loire Valley region’s cuisine, history, and culture. We had a lovely group of students who seized many opportunities to practise their French. Teachers and students alike had an amazing week making new French friends and getting involved in many visits and activities, such as a cooking workshop, ordering food in French at a restaurant, visiting castles and a museum and exploring the medieval city of Tours. Our only regret is not staying longer.
As Divine commented, ‘It was fascinating and amazing to experience daily life and the culture, and to see how it differed from what I am used to in Britain. The activities were so fun, and I especially loved talking to the locals in French; they were all so nice!’
Amir Hossein added, ‘A chance to go to France, take part in exciting activities, and have the opportunity to speak French was not going to be missed! I really enjoyed the escape room in French and the Futuroscope (a French theme park). The French family was lovely, and I (literally) got a taste of French culture. The teachers made sure everyone had a good time. I loved the French exchange, and I would recommend it 100%’.
Thank you so much to Ms Bourin for organising the trip, the French families for hosting our students and the other staff members for accompanying the trip.
