Year 8 students outdid themselves this year!
We are delighted to share the success of this year’s Year 8 Science Fair, which was a truly inspiring event showcasing the creativity, curiosity, and dedication of our students.
A special congratulation goes to our overall winner, Hin Yun (Ashworth). Hin Yun demonstrated exceptional commitment by independently learning an advanced physics technique known as Finite Element Analysis (FEA), a concept typically studied at A Level. He applied this knowledge to design and test his own models, combining deep scientific understanding with impressive practical skills.
His project stood out to our Year 12 judges, who were unanimously impressed not only by the complexity of his work, but also by the dedication behind it. Hin Yun spent many hours refining his project, often using his own time during breaks; an excellent example of the determination and curiosity that underpin great scientific thinking.
The Science Fair was also a wonderful opportunity to welcome visiting primary school pupils, who engaged enthusiastically with the projects and asked thoughtful, inquisitive questions, contributing to a vibrant and exciting atmosphere.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all parents and carers for your continued support. Your encouragement plays a vital role in enabling our students to thrive, take pride in their work, and embrace opportunities like this with confidence.
Well done to all of our Year 8 students for their fantastic efforts, we are incredibly proud of you all!
