Award nomination
A big congratulation to Year 12 students who were part of the YoungMinds video back in September/October as the video has now been nominated for an award at the TellyCast Digital Video Awards, an awards programme created to celebrate excellence and innovation in the world of digital-first video production.
Perrez, Year 12, commented "Ilyas, Daniel, Nasser and myself have been nominated for a TellyCast Award 26 for our YoungMinds Video! What an amazing achievement - a massive thank you to Evie, Cach and the whole YoungMinds Team for making us feel so welcome on the day! I hope we win! "
We are extremely proud of the boys for their bravery in opening up and talking about mental health to help reduce the stigma on young boys, particularly those from black or mixed black heritage. Evie from YoungMinds said "It recognises the power of creating honest, raw, and empowering work where young people can share their lived experiences without filters - and be truly heard."
Mrs Billington-Fenner concluded "I am beyond proud of the Year 12 boys for their bravery in sharing their own feelings and experiences with mental health and being inspiring role models for the Latymer community and beyond. To see this video be nominated for an award shows how important it is to raise awareness of these topics so that all young people feel supported and know their value in this world."
