We are delighted to share that Clara, Year 12, was highly commented for the 2025 English and Media Centre's emagazine Close Reading Competition for her writing on Tenterhooks - a novel written in 1912 by Ada Leverson.

The competition allows A Level literature students to think closely about literary texts and convey these ideas in writing. 

After the final judging, Clara was commended by the judges for her entry - they were very impressed with the quality of her response, which was very perceptive and well written. 

Congratulations to Clara for her wonderful success - it is a fantastic achievement to have been chosen for the shortlist!
