We are delighted to share that Year 12 student Bea Unwin has become a 2025 Orwell Youth Prize winner for their poem 'snapshots of a pride and a protest'.

The Orwell Youth Prize uses the writing of George Orwell to inspire young people to write about their own ideas and experiences. The theme for 2025 was to write in response to: 'Freedom is...'

There were 1,476 entries and six winners were picked - Bea is one of only two winners for the Years 12 & 13 category. Bea's poem can be read here: Bea Unwin - snapshots of a pride & a protest | The Orwell Foundation

Congratulations to Bea for their wonderful success and literary achievement!
