Joshua, Year 9, took part last weekend in his first international diving competition in Aachen, Germany. Back in September 2024, Joshua was selected to be on the Junior Development Team, one of 27 divers.

The 8 Nations Youth Diving Meet sees diving competitors from France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland compete over three days.

Overall, it was a great experience for Joshua and he has gained a lot of experience, which he will take with him to future international competitions. Being the youngest of the GB team, Josh competed with some of last year’s European champions and he held his own. With nerves on his first 1M board Josh came 7th. Then, on the second day, he came 6^th on the 3M board. On his last day he gave some best performances and was very pleased with himself, finishing 5th on his platform.

Team Great Britain took away 1 gold, 7 silver, 3 bronze medals, finishing overall 3rd place for team trophy. A fantastic performance and achievements by all divers and team!

Joshua’s team leader, teammates, coach, family and school are extremely very proud of his achievements over this past weekend.
