Welcome to the Latymer Sixth Form!

The Latymer School Sixth Form is a highly successful and rewarding place to study. Whether continuing as a Latymer student after GCSEs or joining us from a different school, our aim is to make sure that students feel well supported, highly motivated, academically challenged and well-equipped for the next stages in their academic journey. We also want our students to feel confident and considerate, retaining a strong sense of personal identity and independence. This is why it is important that our Sixth Form students are a key part of school life and are given opportunities to lead and shape Latymer.

Undoubtedly, our students have a history of achieving high academic standards with approximately 30 of our students achieving places at the University of Oxford or the University of Cambridge each year. Moreover, many of our students gain places on medicine, dentistry and veterinary science courses or on courses related to mathematics and science. However, we are also proud that many of our students also gain places on courses related to the arts, humanities, law, languages and social sciences, highlighting the varied subject areas our students progress onto. Approximately 80% of our students achieve places at Russell Group universities with many others achieving places on other excellent courses both in the UK and abroad, including prestigious apprenticeships. All of this is achieved through the expert support provided for our students by our skilled staff who are committed and supportive in ensuring all can achieve.

We know that students benefit from having sound careers advice and activities, and as such, we have a range of different activities to support this throughout their two years in the Latymer Sixth Form. These include one-to-one support with personal statements and applications, as well as sessions led by professionals from the world of work who can provide specific examples of what life is like in their field. Students are also provided with a wide range of extracurricular opportunities through the wide range of societies which they can lead and develop, as well as being able to be part of whole school activities for example in music and drama.

At Latymer, we have a wide range of A-level subjects on offer. The Sixth Form experience will, of course, focus on academic progress and achievement, but there is also great emphasis on personal, social and leadership development. We encourage students to seriously consider joining the Latymer Sixth Form community as it is a place where they can thrive and succeed.
