Trip to Cwm
A highlight of the year for Year 7 students
Ashworth House off to Wales.
The Cwm trips commenced this week, with 7 Ashworth being the first form to go. The Year 7 trips to the Latymer dedicated residential centre in Cwm are an excellent opportunity for students to bond as a form group and participate in a variety of activities that may not normally be accessible to them.
George, Mikhel and Caelan, Year 7 students, tell us more:
"The trip to Cwm seemed daunting at first but my worries soon dissipated into the fresh air of the Welsh countryside. From the delicious dinners served every night to the exhilarating activities that we participated in daily, the trip was an unforgettable experience for all.
On Monday we partook in a variety of sports, including abseiling, indoor climbing, paddle boarding and canoeing. The next day, we were given a chance to admire the breathtaking views of Wales, as we clambered up one of its finest gorges. On Wednesday, we trekked 10 miles through the Welsh forest land, a strenuous but rewarding journey. On Thursday we explored the local mineshaft, albeit abandoned; it was an interesting experience to be honest.
All in all, it was an amazing experience, and I would definitely do it again."
