Careers fair 2022

Year 10 students exploring different career paths.

Great opportunity for students to explore different career options.

Planes, trains and COVID! Despite, an array of setbacks, the Careers Fair took place on Monday 4th July and was very well received by our Year 10 students. It was wonderful to see so many new faces from current parents and alumni alike, and to welcome back our regular supporters to this Covid-postponed event. Our Year 10 students took all this in their stride and listened with interest to the sound advice and insight our visitors freely gave. Students spoke to many professionals to help them explore a range of potential careers.

As Amara, Year 10 student, explains “We participated in a variety of different activities, including CV building and using the Job Explorer Database (JED) to determine which jobs suit our personal interests. The highlight of the day was the Careers Fair, where we spoke to many professionals, in fields ranging from Finance and pharmaceuticals to sports therapy and internal communications, and we were given impartial advice that will help us to make informed choices. Overall, it was a really interesting and helpful experience that has given us a lot of useful information to develop our careers. It was great to speak to so many individuals and we are lucky to have such supportive staff and alumni. The knowledge that we gained and skills we developed will allow us to obtain more work shadowing opportunities and possibly work experience.”

As you can see, it does not go unnoticed by students and staff just how committed our alumni, parents (past and present) and associated employers are. A big thank you all our 2022 participants!
