European Day of Languages

Annual celebration of diversity and languages
Our Year 8 students celebrated the European Day of Languages, which takes place every year on 26th September.
As part of the celebration, we explored the many languages spoken by our students at home and discussed the importance of learning new languages in today’s multicultural world.
To make the experience even more special, several students volunteered to teach their classmates their own languages. Over the following week, we enjoyed wonderful presentations where students introduced us to Gujarati, Bengali, and Arabic. The presentations were truly impressive. We learned about each language’s history, alphabet, and phonetics, and were amazed by the confidence and enthusiasm of our young linguists.
To recognise their fantastic effort, the top two presentations received a special prize. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the diversity and language talent within our school community.
