Great involvement from Sixth Form students
This week, we were delighted to welcome over 100 Sixth Form students to our annual mentor training session; a fantastic turnout that reflects the strength of our school community. The session was led by two Year 13 students, Charlotte and Francesca, who have both been exemplary mentors during their time in Sixth Form. Their leadership, experience, and insight helped set the tone for what promises to be another impactful year for the mentoring programme.
Our mentoring initiative is designed to support younger students across the school, whether through academic guidance or more general wellbeing support. It’s a brilliant example of how our school not only nurtures confident, talented individuals, but also fosters a caring and compassionate culture.
Some of our mentors will also take their support beyond the school gates as part of our Outreach Programme. This initiative sees students working with local primary schools to boost literacy and numeracy, and to help raise aspirations among younger pupils. Just this week, two of our Sixth Form students visited a local primary school, where they met with pupils, teachers, and parents to share their experiences of life at our school and the wide range of opportunities Latymer offers.
We are incredibly proud of all our students involved in the mentoring and outreach programmes. They understand the importance of giving back, and they demonstrate daily how powerful peer support and community engagement can be. Their commitment is a shining example of our school values in action.
