Trip to Epping Forest, Stratford and King’s Cross.
Last Thursday and Friday, Year 13 geographer’s visited Epping Forest, Stratford and King’s Cross to conduct their fieldwork for their Geography coursework.
Since the summer term, the students have planned their own individual studies that contribute to their overall A Level grade. Students are given freedom to research an area that they are particularly interested in, which focuses on a range of topics across their physical and human units of work.
Those researching a human geography topic, have spent time in Stratford and King’s Cross conducting a variety of methods, including questionnaires and interviews with the public on their perceptions on the recent regeneration projects and the impact on the areas.
Those completing a physical investigation spent time in Epping Forest, conducting infiltration tests, whilst looking at a range of variables that might influence the rates. Thankfully, the rain held off!
Year 13 students have worked incredibly hard on their independent investigations so far, and this part of their course gives them a real taste of what it might be like for them conducting a dissertation at university level.
