Ski trip

A fantastic trip for all the participants.

Ski trip to Prato Nevoso in Italy.

“I had such an amazing time on the ski trip with all the teachers and instructors being very helpful and supportive. At the end of the day, it was so funny listening to everyone’s stories and then the allocation of the ‘donut’ and the ‘star’ of the day. The nights were always a fun time - whether it was just dance or quiz night!. My favourite memories were going on my first red and going snow tubing. I would recommend it to anyone in the upcoming years.” Anna (Year 10)

“The ski trip to Prato Nevoso in Italy was one to remember and admire forever. Despite the long 27-hour coach trip, it was all worth it, as when we reached Italy on the first day we were greeted by it snowing. Untouched it was and when I stepped out of the bus a cold breeze hit my face and as I examined around there was snow elegantly fluttering down. To my surprise, the snow was also settling on the ground which meant we wouldn’t have to use fake snow for the slopes. When we set foot in the hotel we were welcomed by a group of chefs that had stayed up late to cook us dinner. Even though the clock was almost at midnight, the chefs were joyful, they were loving the moment, you could see it in their faces. A high-quality scrumptious meal was served to us, I ate it in seconds. The same energy from the chefs and the condition of the food was kept up for the whole week. After the first dinner at the hotel, we were set for skiing the next morning.

The second day was amazing, I got to ski for the first time in three whole years, I am sure many could relate. Following the fact that we had fitted and found suitable skis and ski boots, we were off going straight for the pistes. After a quick trial, which was done for the purpose to see who would be in advanced, intermediate or beginner, we were set for the chairlift. We got on the chairlift in a flash, and up we went for the first run of the season.

The ski slopes were perfect for our school. Intermediates and ambitious beginners had many gentle, wide, long blues available to them, which were generally found further up the mountain. There were some challenging reds for intermediates to test themselves on. For the advanced there were only one or two black slopes, but they also had a snow park, which the children eventually went to.

Over the week it was incredible to see the progress my friends were making. It was all thanks to our ski instructors (they never failed to put a smile on our faces, making jokes, calling us funny names, the kids loved it). The teachers must’ve been really proud of us, as the intermediate and advanced both went down the black piste and the snow park. I can tell you from now it was so enjoyable.

This whole ski trip was amazing, and I would like to give a big thank you to the staff who came along with us and spent their half term with us. We would have not been able to do it without you. I would love to go on another ski trip with the school.“ Alex (Year 8)
