400th anniversary Art Competition

Another special competition to mark our 1624-2024 anniversary

Announcing the winner of the 400th anniversary Art Competition!

Congratulations to Eylul, (Year 10), for winning the 400th anniversary art competition! Her painting will be used on the cover of our Royal Festival Hall event’s programme.

Eylul was chosen as she captured both the past and present in her painting, as well as representing so well the diverse community within the Latymer School.

Her inspiration came from our 2024 400th anniversary calendar and Norman Rockwell’s Golden Rule. Rockwell’s mosaic depicts people of every race, creed, and colour, with dignity and respect and touches on the theme of human rights. Inscribed on its surface is the Golden Rule: Do Unto Others as You Would Have Them Do Unto You. In the mosaic, people of all traditions and cultures of the world are in united harmony.

It could not have been a more fitting winning entry to reflect our school’s values and ethos!

Second prize went to Shayna (Year 8). Alexander (Year 9) and Nabeeha (Year 9) got joint third place.

The entries were all amazing, well done to all the students who participated!
