Official Opening - The Seward Studio

Tuesday 23rd February, 2010 saw the official opening of the Seward Studio by Dame Margaret Seward, former pupil, head girl and Chair of Governors at Latymer 1983-94.

Click here to view the Gallery The Seward Studio, the most recent building project at Latymer, is the conversion of a gym into a multi-purpose performance and gallery space, capable of seating up to 180 people. Staff and students are enjoying using the space for assemblies, lectures, art exhibitions, media workshops, drama performances and concerts.

The Opening was a wonderful event attended by many ex Latymerians including, Dame Eileen Atkins, Governors, former head teachers, supporters and friends.

After speeches and the formal unveiling of the plaque, some of the Seward Studio's many facilities were demonstrated. The Drama department performed short extracts from The Boyfriend, after which the studio was automatically reconfigured into a High Definition Surround Sound Cinema displaying stunning videos. During drinks and a buffet, guests were treated to an art exhibition and music by the talented Latymer string quartet.
