The Latymer Link - page 6

nce again, Latymer Old Students Association’s year draws to a close on a high note after a hugely
successful Summer Reunion Day on Saturday 12th July. This event, when the school is open to all former
students and staff to return for a few hours of socialising and reminiscing, always draws a crowd – this year we
welcomed almost 300 people (across more than 20 different year groups) for lunch, with many more arriving
later in the afternoon.
The day really does represent a coming together of the Latymer family with current staff and some of our
senior pupils doing their bit to welcome our guests: Catering Manager Jean Dixon and her team provide the
lunch, our Archivist and Head of History Andrew Granath spoke this year on “Latymer and the First World
War” and Latymer’s School Librarian Miranda McAllister opened the library and supervised a display of our
archives including photographs, magazines, items of uniform and the ever-popular Punishment Book! Head
Boy and Girl, Callum McCarthy and Jamila Phillips also worked hard, entertaining some of our oldest guests
over lunch and later showing visitors around the school buildings. A big thank you to all those involved in
making the day a success, and to those who joined us with such enthusiasm on the day.
And so the cycle begins again, with L.O.S.A.’s AGM scheduled for 10th March 2015, our Annual Dinner on
18th April 2015 and next year’s Summer Reunion planned for 11th July 2015. Please do get in touch if you’re
a former student, live within travelling distance of the school and would be interested in coming to or even
helping to organise any of these events. New volunteers to the LOSA Committee will be especially warmly
