Cyprus
sports
tour
NEW
country
has
been added
to
the
list
of
Latymer sports
tours
-
Cyprus,
where
in
October
half-
term,
52 of
the school's
keenest
sports-
men and
women
from
years
10
and
11
set
off
on
tour.
Our hotel
was
opposite
the
beach,
where we were treated
to
constant
games and
activities.
As
other
holiday-
makers lazed on
the
beach, Latymer stu-
dents
were
always
active
and
we drew
quite
a
crowd when we set
up a
beach
football
tournament.
Although
the
netball team
was
not
sure
what
to
expect
from
the opposition,
it
was a pleasant surprise
when we won
our
first
match
by
quite
a margin.
However,
this victory
was
short-lived
when we
lost
the
next
two
matches
the
following
day
but,
as
the
teachers
would
say,
it's the taking part
that
counts!
Everyone
got involved
in
the sport
regard-
less
of whether
they'd
played
it
before
and a real
sense
of team
spirit
blos-
somed.
The Cyprus sports
tour
has been
an
unforgettable experience.
lt would
not
have been possible
without the
hard
work
and
effort
put in
by
the team
of
staff. We
are
grateful
to
Mr
King,
Ms
Potter,
Mr
Pashley, Ms
Kelsall
and Mr
Needham,
who
not only put
up
with
a
bunch
of
noisy teenagers
for
the week
but
also shared
with
us
some amazing
memories
that will
remain
with
us
for
years
to
come.
Although
they
may have
fooled
us
time
and
time
again
with their
witty
and clever
tricks,
their
efforts
and
enthusiasm
made
for
another great
