Trip for Year 12 students

As part of their A Level French studies, Year 12 students visited the French Institute to watch the film Tout Simple Noir. The documentary-style film explores identity, diversity, and the experience of being Black in contemporary France, offering a powerful and thought-provoking perspective that resonated strongly during Black History Month.

The visit provided an excellent opportunity for students to engage with current social issues through French cinema and to reflect on themes of representation and belonging. These ideas link directly to their forthcoming study of La Haine, which also examines questions of identity, marginalisation, and social tension in modern France.

The students participated with maturity and insight, making this an enriching and timely experience.
