On Sunday 13th October, Latymer School A and B chess teams attended the English Chess Federation Secondary
School Rapidplay Chess Tournament. There were over 200 pupils competing at the tournament which was held at Eton College in Berkshire.

Latymer A placed a fantastic 9th out of 36 teams coming from independent and state schools around the country. The B team also placed 19th and it was brilliant to see the students enjoying competitive games of chess.

The Latymer teams included:

• Year 8: Beni, Gabriel, James and Melis.
• Year 9: Theo.
• Year 11: Arvi, Joshua, Eng Jie, Luca and Jin Shen.
• Year 12: Xavier and Rishi.
• Year 13: Gregor.
