Today, students in Year 13 had an assembly which focused on getting them to develop a Growth Mindset. Following the Mock exams in December, students will have received some degree of feedback on their papers and what today's assembly asked them to do is consider that intelligence is not fixed but can be developed significantly depending on how one views, uses and responds to feedback. The assembly is very much linked to the one on Metacognition that students had in November in which they were asked to think about their approach to learning and whether this could be improved by monitoring and evaluating how they learn. (Due to lockdown, feedback has been varied and some departments have still to carry out in depth feedback. This is being worked on currently and students will be informed).
