This week’s eco challenge is: Delete your old emails (and empty the 'deleted items' folder!)
Why?- I didn’t know why deleting your emails helps the environment. However, it’s all to do with the power needed to store them.
First, to transmit and store the vast amounts of information sent every hour (10 BILLION!), you need lots of energy, which come from concrete infrastructures, as every little action on a computer needs computational power.
Companies like Apple do use renewable energy, but a big company like Amazon does not (they use coal).
By deleting your emails, you can help save a lot of energy.
