The Latymer 6th Form Charity Committee Mission
We aim to raise awareness and involve the school community in activities to support small or local charities, and we believe that our combined efforts and contributions can make a difference in the community.
The Latymer School has always been a charitable institution striving to improve our community; but it wasn’t until a few years ago that this aim was centralised and ingrained into the student body itself, when Ms Tumilty and a small yet innovative force of sixth form students established our very own ‘Charities’ Committee’. They believed, as we still do, that our school’s charities work should go beyond the annual non-uniform day money collection, and instead should be continuous throughout the whole year with a specific focus on raising awareness of and supporting local charities where gradual nevertheless noticeable differences are made.
Since then, Charities Committee has developed into an established student society which continues to grow and make a real change in our local area. However, it has only become what it is today thanks to the encouragement of students and staff, especially Ms Tumilty who remains to be the supportive co-ordinator.
