Admissions Policy

When determining the top 650 candidates, priority will be given to those applicants whose main home address is in the inner area as of 12 January 2018. The Inner Area is indicated by the following postcode areas:
  • E2, E4, E5, E8, E9, E17
  • EN1, EN2, EN3, EN4, EN5 Sectors 1, 2, 4, 5, ONLY
  • EN8 Sectors 7, 8, 9, ONLY
  • N1 (not N1C), N2, N3, N4, N5, N6, N7, N8, N9, N10, N11, N12,
  • N13, N14, N15, N16, N17, N18, N19, N20, N21, N22
If you move house at any time during the process, please inform us in writing immediately. If you move out of the Inner Area it is unlikely that we will be able to take your application further.

Music: 20 of the 192 places in year 7 are for ‘exceptional musicians’ which means, as a guideline those who have already achieved Grade 5 Distinction or equivalent on an instrument or voice and are ranked within the top 650 candidates in the assessment tests. Please tick this box if your child is of this standard and wishes to be considered for one of these places. Music forms will be available on our website and should be completed and returned to Latymer by Friday 7 July 2017 together with any supporting evidence.

  12. Special Educational Needs and Disabilities: If your child has a special educational need/disability or medical need for which they are currently receiving support at primary school, please tick this box. In this category, a child will be considered to have the necessary capability if s/he is ranked in the top 650 applicants in the assessment tests. Documents concerning this issue will be sent directly to you and we ask you to forward these to your primary school for completion by Friday 7 July 2017.

  13. Looked After Child: If you are responsible for a looked after child or a previously looked after; or a child subject to an adoption, residence, or special guardianship order, please tick this box. In this category, a child will be considered to have the necessary capability if s/he is ranked in the top 650 applicants in the assessments tests.   14. Pupil Premium: Please tick this box if your child is currently eligible for Free School Meals (FSM). A maximum of 20 of the 192 applicants from the Inner Area, who, on written evidence are eligible for FSM, will be considered for admission if they are ranked within the Top 650 candidates in the assessments tests. Please forward supporting evidence to Latymer by Friday 7 July 2017.

    The outcome of the tests are sent to you to inform your decisions on which schools, in which order, to put on the LEA form.
    HOWEVER, IF YOU DO NOT NAME LATYMER ON YOUR LOCAL AUTHORITY COMMON APPLICATION FORM, THE LOCAL AUTHORITY ADMISSIONS DEPARTMENT WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PROCESS YOUR APPLICATION FOR LATYMER.
