We are pleased to announce that this year, three Year 12 Latymer pupils have been successful in Oxbridge Essay Writing Competitions. Lottie McCrindle won the Queens' College (Cambridge) prize for English, the Estelle Prize, for an essay on awkwardness in the works of three contemporary women poets. The college described her essay as, 'outstanding and one which showed impressive initiative and wide reading, passion and curiosity.' Neil Shah was Highly Commended for his entry on Gender in the Corpus Christi Essay Competitions - Christopher Marlowe prize in English and finally, Eliza Jones was also Commended for her essay exploring strong female characters in Virginia Woolf's writing for Newnham College's Essay Prize. All three students have excelled and demonstrated excellent flair and independent research skills. Very well done to all.
