From October 5th to October 12th, year 12 students went to Toulouse in the South of France for an exchange trip. Students were completely immersed in the French culture staying in their respective French exchange family. They have experienced the French school system in our French partner school the Lycee Saint Sernin, which is in the heart of Toulouse. The French trip to Toulouse has really responded to the high demands of the AS course and matched the curriculum in all aspects. Students have visited a French deprived area that mirror the theme we are studying in ' La haine', visited a wide variety of monuments in Toulouse and its area, discovered the artist Toulouse de Lautrec, cooked with the guidance of a French chef and even learnt about how planes are made in the Airbus site. Finally students were able to ask questions and interact with their French exchange and their families to enhance their knowledge of the French language and culture. I would like to say thank you to our French assistant Ms Heddle, who organised the trip and prepared a range of resources for our students to make the most of the adventure. Finally, students and staff are really excited to welcoming the French students from the Lycee Sain Sernin next March.
