The first Lamb house assembly of the year was full of high-spirits, buoyed by our success of winning the Dormer Shield last year. House assemblies are one of the less formal assemblies at Latymer, and fun was had with all of the new house officers showing off their most amusing photographs from their time at Latymer, and pinning the bow on Mary Lamb (the sister of Charles Lamb, our namesake). As well as learning about all of the events in the inter-house competition and getting to know the house officers, Lamb House voted on which charity would be selected as the 'House Charity' for this year. The House Charity, a concept which we must admit was nicked from our friendly rivals over at Dolbé House, is the charity which all Lamb form groups will be raising money for over the course of the year from the new year sevens to the upper sixth form. This year, the shortlist was:
- The London Air Ambulance
- Nordoff Robbins
- Emmaus UK,
All of which were nominated by members of the house who have a personal connection with the charity. They are three very worthy causes, and we look forward to being able to raise funds to support the winning charity, the London Air Ambulance, over the course of the year.
