GCSE Drama: Accents workshop for Year 10 Drama students

On Monday 29th February, the GCSE Drama students in Year 10 had a session from professional dialect coach Laurann Brown on how do Northern Accents. This was part of the preparation process for their forthcoming Acting assessments in scenes from their Set Play "Billy Liar". This Northern comedy is set in Yorkshire in the fictional town of Stradhoughton and the accents are an integral part of the drama. In order to help the students to prepare for their performances, Laurann instructed them in a whole range of fascinating vocal techniques, which we hope the students will now be able to apply to their practical work.
