Welcome to the APFLS. We are The Association of Parents and Friends of The Latymer School.

Last year we celebrated our Silver Jubilee. During the past 25 years, we have raised well over £300,000 by organising functions and serving refreshments during school events (Concerts, Plays, Open Evenings, Entrance Exams, Etc). The money raised provides the school with both expensive and smaller value items, enabling our children to benefit from their use.

Items donated in the past include a laser cutter machine for the arts dept; new skeletons for the biology dept; artifacts for the history dept; keyboards and music stands for the music dept; funding for the “Young Enterprise” incentive; a projector for the Great Hall; equipment for the gym; and also a mini bus. We have recently provided a grand piano and four plasma screens for the new ‘Seward Studio’, and our aim is to provide another mini bus later on in the year.

During 2010, the school celebrates 100 years at Haselbury Road. We are commemorating this anniversary by holding a Bollywood Dance Evening. I hope that you will be able to join us and support not only this, our Centenary event, but also many other events during the course of the year.
You will find us very welcoming though slightly over enthusiastic in our support for this great school and its hard working staff. They all play a great part in giving our children an excellent academic background, and provide them with the ethos and background to mature into good citizens in the future.

We are always looking for help in organising and running our events, and if you feel able to volunteer your time and expertise we would be delighted to hear from you.
