Year 10 trip to wicked

Our students are off to the West End.

A memorable trip to the West End.

Thirty-eight of our Year 10 Music students went to see a performance of the hit musical Wicked at the Apollo Theatre. This is tied in with the 'Music for Stage and Screen' part of the GCSE course. This trip is always very popular with our pupils, as some of them explain:

  • I loved seeing the variations in the way the performers sung the songs and how that differed from the soundtrack. It was also really amazing to hear the songs performed live.” Jake
  • I really liked the different emotions portrayed through the music and seeing how that complemented the sets, costumes and action. Seeing 'Defying Gravity' performed live allowed me to understand the context of the piece and helped me analyse the music further.Madeleine
  • It was really great to hear the songs from recordings in class come to life. I also liked seeing how the storyline tied in with the soundtrack.Lola
